Lovely pics, the butterfly is a red admiral just out of hibernating overwinter. The other insect is a Bee Fly, a solitary bee-like insect with a latin name of Systoechus vulgaris from the family Bombyliidae. It uses its long proboscis to suck up nectar from flowers and although it looks like a bee it has no sting. Quite rare in the UK actually.
